Caitlin MacBride
ABOUT
Armed with an MFA from Bard College and a BFA from RISD, Caitlin MacBride explores the still space between form and function. Her quiet paintings tug at the soft tensions in fine fabric, twisted rope and, in particular, Shaker furniture. Herself a New England native, MacBride frequently returns to the region’s Shaker influence, a strange amalgamation in which the Christian sect’s legendary craftsmanship paired with gender equality, strict celibacy, and the calling of a higher power.
CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
