ABOUT
Jim Drain was born in Cleveland, OH in 1975 and earned his BFA from RISD, where he is now a member of the faculty. At RISD, Drain became a member of Forcefield, a collective that explored the merging of music, performance, film, and installation. Forcefield was active from 1996–2002 and was featured in the 2002 Whitney Biennial. Drain is known for the wide variety of media he uses, particularly in his textile collage works that push the boundaries of sculpture.
