His hybrid practice fuses elements of painting and sculpture resulting in highly refined objects, complicating the expectations of form and perception. In Nikravan’s most recent works, traditional Islamic forms are appropriated and filtered through the lens of Western Modernism, revealing the latent politics of form that lie beneath the surface of architecture and design.
