Henrik Eiben (b. 1975) collects color in all different shapes, sizes, and situations: glass, wood, plexiglass, fabric, metal. While some might call him a sculptor, he considers himself a painter whose favorite medium is found materials. Fueled by curiosity and a bold desire to constantly challenge his own artistic practice, Eiben’s creations are full of surprises. Look at a piece in the morning light from the right, and you’ll see something different than at dusk from the left. What’s more: Spend a little time with his work, and you’ll catch yourself admiring color in places you never noticed before.
