Wouter Nijland

Dutch artist Wouter Nijland creates three-dimensional geometric paintings inspired by chance, from dice to coins to coded marbles. Although colors appear monochromatic, they are actually carefully mixed using twelve shades of primary colors. The heavily-mixed oil layers are applied with thick brushstrokes, drawing the viewer’s eye as they catch the light.
