Lauren Luloff

Lauren Luloff makes dynamic paintings that incorporate collaged layers of dyed and cut fabric, combined bleach drawings of decorative patterns, flowers, trees and plants. Areas of abstractly worked oil paint are added to some of the spaces between the fabric, exposing stretcher bars and the wire screening behind the muslin. The results are intimate and poignant, walking the line between painting and sculpture.
