Jurell Cayetano creates joyful post-impressionist portraits depicting peers and other people of color from photo references. He uses pencils and paint to capture his subjects in a world full of bright and bold colors, creating narrative paintings characterized by naturalistic realism and laden with expression. Through his work, he aims to reveal the stories of the people he meets in his adopted city of Atlanta.
